Well, the first thing i noticed is that they are much heavier than carhartts. The fit is awesome, and they are very durable. I put a hole in the leg the first time I wore then while under a house. I had put a nail through the leg, but after 6 months of wear and wash cycles, the hole has not grown(the rip stop really is rip stop and cotton is by no means puncture proof). These are the most comfy, durable pants I have ever encoountered, and I have found that they are so unrestrictive that you can even do yoga in them(My tendons are in rough shape and yoga is the best way to minimize the pain. I am no hippie).
